The London derby between Chelsea and Tottenham at Stamford Bridge takes on a dramatic and fateful character rarely seen in recent the Premier League. In the penultimate round the two teams enter the battle with radically different but equally critical objectives. Chelsea for honour and a higher mid-table finish, and Tottenham for literal survival in the top flight. Chelsea are in 9th place. The Blues are playing primarily for their fans and to end the season on a positive note. However, they showed they will not give away points to anyone after stumbling Liverpool at Anfield in the last round with a prestigious 1-1 draw. Tottenham is in 17th place. Spurs are in an unprecedented battle for survival. Led by their new manager Roberto De Zerbi, they are only 2 points above the relegation zone, where West Ham are pressing them hard. After a disappointing 1-1 draw with Leeds last week, Tottenham have no room for error in their last two games away at Chelsea and at home vs Everton. Tottenham will be looking for the win, but the pressure and fear of a historic relegation to the Championship could stiffen the legs of De Zerby's players. Young French super talent Mathys Tel is in the spotlight. He scored a phenomenal goal against Leeds, but then he also gave a stupid penalty. Spurs' salvation will depend on his efficiency in front of goal and on the leadership of Mohammed Kudos.
